A Very Positive and Long Review of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed has steadily become one of my favourite gaming franchises out there. I liked what I played in the first entry, but slowly became obsessed with the series after Assassin’s Creed 2. I have essentially completed every single entry and their DLCs, even the PS VITA entry Liberation.

Ubisoft and its various studios have a bad reputation for good reason. Numerous credible abuse allegations have been levelled at the leadership and there is obvious nepotism with Yves Guillemot and his son. The scandals have also hit the Assassin’s Creed franchise, with Ubisoft leadership deciding that AC Odyssey had to have a male and female playable character while the development team wanted to just go with Kassandra (for what it’s worth I played as Alexios, and loved the game and the character). Ashraf Ismail, the director of Origins and Valhalla also stepped down before the game was released due to allegations of sexual misconduct, with Polygon reporting: “The streamer who made the first allegation against Ismail said she had a consenting relationship with him, but also said he concealed his marriage from her, to the point of claiming the wedding band he wore was for show, so that his parents wouldn’t be asked why their son
